My 2004 import Runx 1.8l has abracket attached to the top side of the rear axle / beam. It seems to be a lever action sort of thing with an electrical lead connected to it which goes up into the boot / hatch floor area. I'm buggered if I know what it does, but it doesn't have any electrical leads connected to the shocks, as a workmate suggested. Any ideas !

it doesn't have electronic adjustable suspension, it's not the uprated 1.8 engine model, but the standard 1.8l.

I think this could be it.
