If a road bike was bought new in NZ in '88 but never put on the road how do i get it on the road!
Kaz', i went through your thread on KB but don't know what part my bike would fit in.
Copied from my thread on KB:
Just spoke to Honda NZ and they say they have no history of it ever being rego'ed in NZ. It has the number on the neck, guy at Honda said it's called a "rykashicki" number or something like that. They used it before the 'VIN' system was invented. The bike is an oceanic designated bike so was made for our market and would've been sold new in NZ. Guy at Honda also said with only 25,000 mile yes mile not km it may never had been on NZ roads from new. Then rang NZTA and they also had no idea or history on the bike. So maybe i have a new bike, all be it with 25,000 miles on it LOL:
Why o why do i give buying old crap LOL.

Thanks again kaz'. It looks like i'll a few more hoops to jump through but i think it'll be worth it.

That's the thing kaz', LTSA/NZTA have no record of it ever being on the road.
They can't say the number is in-valid as there is another bike the same on TM now, i checked on carjam and their number is registered as the "VIN / frame #" and it's only 2 digits different to the number my bike has.
