Lol. Go to the council website and get some aerial photos of the area mark out where you were in relation to where the Police were.Rubber on the road could be from any car that is not proof at all.I know the lawyer we used has had cases in Auckland he was originally from Auckland and darn good as well.Text my add and i will give you his name, at the very least if he has not more cases in Auckland he might be able to suggest someone. If you want to lose your licence for 6 months then do nothing, the police have to disclose what they have, did you admit anything or give a statement, of which I hope you did neither.

lol the boys are always targeted. if comes with who you hang out with etc.Still if it gets thrown out or withdrawn costs should be allowed.

Maybe we should seek publicity over it, my son has been single out and twice its been withdrawn by police, both times we had a good lawyer. Total cost around 3500.00 if the police had a case then why withdraw it not once but twice.Easy money when you think about it. $812.00 in impound fees,180 Dollars in WOF fees and lawyers bills twice. Both times the Police let it go on and on and at a status hearing a little after it, the charges are withdrawn.

Guess you didn't pick up on the sarcasm then. Thats the one bad thing about the internet. But feel free to go on with your view how it works and what you think. I'm bored today, so keen to listen.

do they really inpound and get your car towed on the spot for sustained loss of traction if you have a squeaky clean record! i didnt know they did. im guessing you failed the attitude test or did a seriously mean skid, i may be wrong!

Some cops are just scum. My advice is that everyone record on their cell phones all conversations with Police, even when stopped for no reason. I am always polite and accommodating but have been caught out twice now.
Its reached a very sad low in NZ now where law abiding citizens get pulled over and abused for no reason. The "attitude test" is laughable when Cops think they can be snide and rude as much as they like.
Given the nasty uncalled for and caustic attitude I have had for no reason I can only imagine what things must be like if someone did commit an offense like in poster 1's example.
shimmy93,

i actually want to know, do they impound on the spot, even if your records clean!

So 6 months and fine on top of that! Yes pretty clean record, and as for attitude test -
i was being very co operative, listening etc, when i started explaining my story he picked certain lines and recorded what he wanted in his little diary/handbook. Then he asked to sign i said is it ok if i not sign he said all good.
I was being extremly polite at all times.

Lol, as I said you did not get it.I know what it is pal, I'm not stupid. Just saying been sarcastic about it, hence the . Meaning yea the un official attitude test. If I were to say, it does not exist I would say something like. Oh yea the attiude test yeah right lol
Can't always pick up on sarcasm over the message boards has you would not hear my tone of voice used. Crikey to to serious.

240142,
Nov 15, 5:02pm
anyone know what the fine will be if plead guilty or admit! I read few articles and what i'm up against is more than what i deserve which is what I think, if I have to fight for it I will but most stories end up with huge lawyer bills and winning case. I don't have much money lying around.

Why sell the car! It didn't cause the offense.
240142,
Nov 15, 5:09pm
apparently there is going to be huge fine, and towing/impound/wof costs.
raymond00001,
Nov 15, 5:12pm
A good lawyer will cost you more than the fine probably especially if its only your first offence. You've probably already given a confession at roadside to cop which makes any protest in court a waste of time. ie: saying to cop "yeah i rarked it up mate but it wasnt that big of a skid" = confession to loss of traction. If you try to be clever in court they will make sure it costs you more. A friend has done the court thing on speed tickets when he needed licence for work, only saved hime 1 out of 2 occasions and very expensive. Just say your sorry etc and move on.

Yes. He saw white smoke and car 'skidded' for couple seconds-ish

Did a search here it is, or was i should say. They were talking about banning radar detectors too.21 December, 2007
There will be a demerit point regime for intersection offences, including those detected by digital red light cameras as follows:
Offences relating to failing to give way or stop
failing to comply with red traffic signal will attract a fine of $150 and 75 demerit points; failing to stop or give way at stop sign will attract a fine of $100 and 50 demerit points; failing to give way at a give way sign will attract a fine of $50 and 25 demerit points;

Hell you only get (generally) 3 months loss of license and piss all of a fine if you get caught driving home drunk.Load of crap this justice system.
