Hope he had got insurance before driving away.

rocky0169, Feb 3, 1:00pm
. try being behind such traffic at that slow speed when you driving a loaded truck and trailer trying to make speed to safely merge with motorway traffic. very frustrating.

thejazzpianoma, Feb 3, 3:27pm
I have seen many, probably most amazing was one coming around a blind corner at night using the wrong (oncoming traffic) lane, not passing or anything just driving like it was the U.S.

Of course the Police were "too busy" to follow it up.

edangus, Feb 3, 3:33pm
Sorry Bro.

But West is the worst driving.

Weekend just gone we had the pleasure of coming fave to face with one of these idiots,we saw petrol tanker who had obviously come out of the road we were to turn into, fully laden Id say as he had very little speed,we pulled into central median to turn into road and this idiot pulls out and passes the tanker in our lane, thanks to my partners lightening actions and swerving back to the left(thankfully nothing was there)he missed us and carried on.Certainly gave adrenalin rush alrite,a$$hole

a few years back when i was living in auckland i was heading along a 2 lane motorway in a part of albany. asian guy in a type R went flying past me like i was standing still. i caught up to him about 3 minutes later when his car was mangled on the median barrier

The first one, entering motorway at low speed is right on, it`s bloody stupidity, it`s a huge problem on Auckland motorways. The law says, you should let traffic merge.but how the hell can you !.slow down to 50 and thenget someone up your date !.

weavs09, Feb 3, 4:32pm
Is it just me or is all this stupid driving and stupid idiotic driving moments happening in Auckland ! Not being a smart ass jus commenting haha

moosie_21, Feb 3, 4:41pm
Yes, yes it is! Although the idiot brigade came out in force yesterday even before the holidays began.

Driving straight along two lane road with median barrier. I'm on the left, tanker signalling going right into another street. Woman driver in early model White Holden decided good idea to turn into my lane (doing U-turn) without even looking. Nearly T-boned me, didn't even see her until right at the truck, luckily was paying attention and swerved to avoid. 9:30am

Coming out of Hastings, White Corolla obviously driven by old person driving at 60km/h in 100 km/h area. Hits 80 km/h area and SLOWS DOWN. Idiot then goes to pass on a blind corner and nearly gets wiped out by truck coming the other way. 12:30 pm

Same said idiot, in Red Golf, I am now stuck behind. Has gone last 10km's with left blinker on, so have no idea if turning or not. Ignores lights and horn from me to get him to pay attention. Pass when passing lane comes up, give him a friendly wave and honk as I go by. 1 pm

Not venturing out onto the roads this weekend needless to say. Have fun whoever decided to brave it!

In terms of peak hour traffic, if the motorways actually 'worked' like they do overseas then the traffic would be flowing at 100 km/h - and you would enter the motorway doing that speed so you could actually merge.

You get up to speed (the same speed as the flow) and merge. The motorway traffic does NOT slow down for you, so if you aren't doing their speed when you try to merge, heaven help you.

When it's not peak hour, and the motorways are moving at a good rate, then people should merge in this fashion. It seems however there are a lot of drivers who don't understand how to do this. They dawdle down the on-ramp, then slowly creep out into the lane.
This of course holds everyone else up behind them and forces the traffic on the motorway to have to slow to allow them in.

Idiot doing u turn on SH1he forgot the length of the trailerhe was towing, missed him bymm .

mrfxit, Feb 3, 9:01pm
Had 2 cars pass me on the tight sweeping left bends on the way to Taupo.
8 vehicles in front of me (mix of cars & trucks) & these 2 twats decided it was a good idea to pass us ALL in 1 go.

Worst one and had it on camera aswell when one of those office idiots driving his sports car passed me in the same lane at 160. MIssed me by 2 inches literally
