Does anyone know anything or has had a 1998 Mazda Familia! I am looking at one and would love to know a review on them

i always look at carsurvey.org for reviews on cars as they're all by people who actually own them rather than a general review by someone whose driven them once

Ownership is only half the story, you also have to ask the people who work on them, like mechanics. I'm sure they'll know more about them than the owners themselves.

OK, a '98 Mazda Familia is a good car overall, nothing special about them, very easy and cheap to maintain for what they are. Engines need regular oil changes, like any car, and cambelt replaced every 100 000kms. Its biggest downfall is automatic transmission, but they can do over 300 000kms if it hasn't been neglected. So, if you are looking at buying one, get it checked out by your local mechanic.

Mazda Familia represents good value for money, but honestly, I would be getting the NZ new 2000 + model. A 1998 car is 14 years old after all.
