Im getting an erratic lifter sound from the back of my engine. It really only happens on take off and not all the time, just most. When its playing up the car also almost stalls on take off which makes me lean towards the flex plate being cracked. The sound is very erratic unlike say lifters from a P10.

shouldnt be hard totell the difference. Ones at crank speed the other at cam speed.

Noisey lifters would not make the car almost stall on takeoff.Could be flexiplate or torque converter problem.

don't over look a leaking exhaust manifold.although this would account for the nearly stalling part.
