Why not have a user pays system. If you have an accident you have to pay for the full medical treatment. If you cant pay you dont get the treatment. It would be great because people would be more safe and would see the cost to their pocket insted of the Govt picking up the tab.

Quite often the person paying isn't the person needing the treatment (accident).Your wife partner gets crook and ends up in hospital, you employ the help of ananny or housekeeper who has a accident in your kitchen and requires hospital care.Lets say she slips and breaks her hip, can you pull out the cash to pay for her treatment at any given time!If you saw the cost ofcommon garden variety accidents that happen often you too would appreciate what a great system ACC is. Having people come here skiing and breaking their leg and returning to their own country treated by us.that's different!

Why blame ACC!Do you also have multiple vehicles registered even though you can only use one at a time! We motorists are a easy target for any GOVT trying to get people on side when they want to "privatise' a asset! Blame the right people!

ACC has nothing to do with unemployment rates and besides, you will still have the option of choosing ACC as your provider just as before.
