Apart from the engine size any other differences I should know about before I decide which one. Thanks

Not really other than probably higher spec. Get the 325 - much better car.

Even though it has an extra 27000 klms same year as the 320 about the same price it won't get driven a lot and I'm not a speed freak

Nope as you should find the 325 is not a 2500cc *edit* depending on what model we are talking about here, the 46 325 is not 2500cc, fairly sure its 2300, earlier 325s usually are 2500

mate I understand your confusion with BMW's badges. WAAY BACK WHEN -it was easy a 318 was 1.8l the 320 was 2.0l 325 was go figure 2.5letc. But things have changed. the 318 became a 2.0l the 320 became a 2.2lthe 325 got rebadged as a 323 -still 2.5l but it was so that the 328 SEEMED to be a much bigger engine.Confused !Yup me too.

If you must choose between those 2 cars, go for the 325i. The 320i is a 2.2 liter 6 cylinder. Nothing wrong with either them, but you'll get bored driving the 320i. If you can stretch that bit further, go for a 330i. Fuel is possibly better than the 325i, motor is a dream, and much better resale value. Service history is important, but assuming all the boxes are ticked, they are brilliant cars.

Your understanding it better than me mate! But yeah, BMW logic huh! We gotta perfectly good numbering system, understood by all - clearly we should change it all!!!!
When i got one a few years back a friend told me: "If you can't afford to buy a brand new one you can't afford to run an second hand one"
Makes me smile that line

You could say, "How do you make a small fortune driving BMW's"! Start with a big one.
