What was the code that came up when scanned?

poppy62, Jun 17, 3:47am
Could also be one of a number of minor things as well.

keith.marshall, Jun 17, 4:24am
i will findout what the code is.Hopefully only a minor problem.

intrade, Jun 17, 4:40am
take it to somoen with a clue soonest, there is no possible cat the problem is either definet or not and most times it is bad lambda sensors making the engine not do what the catalisator needs to keep being lit up. resulting in insuficient catalisator efficiency codes set on generic scan tools, You need to take it to somone who knows what fueltrim is and what short therm and longtherm fueltrim means . anyone else is a moron with no clue what so ever.
ring AECS.net and ask the office lady who they recommend you take your bmw to in your district.
Codes are not what to replace codes are a symptom of a problem. and generic scanners only see emission related codes not other stuff that could be causing a emission code to be set, so a manufacturer level scanner must be used to look in both rooms the global obd2 and the oem code room for problems before you have the full picture.

It didn't come on at exactly 100,000km did it? Some brands have warning lights come on then or at 150km to indicate a major service should be scheduled to do cam belts and all fluids.

as intrade suggests, take it in and find out whats actually going on. All vehicles require some maintenance, some more than others, that's the cost of ownership.

29f5 was the code

tamarillo, Jun 18, 4:01am
Have you looked that up? Should find it online.

tamarillo, Jun 18, 4:45am
Also does it look like it's had any performance parts to engine especially manifold, cat converters etc?

monsieurl, May 28, 7:06pm
If it's a cat issue, it's going to be either the pre or post cat sensor! A scan will tell you if this is the case instantly! Get it scanned!
