Fuel guzzling?

It will use considerably more fuel than the 2.2 litre.

But they are definitely more powerful, and nicer to drive because of the extra power.

I'd go for the 2.2L Odyssey. Its got enough power to cart around 7 people.

Yes more efficient .

But the V6 is nicer to drive.

The 2.2 litre is still no slouch though.

They are a very very very succesful car from Honda.

V6 Odyssey has a crap gearbox so I have been told. Go 2.2lt

Nissan Elgrand is the way to go, 3.5L V6, thirsty but goes well for a land whale.

Take a 2.2 for a drive and you'll be quite suprised at how well they go.

They are quite old now, so there's plenty of rough old dogs around.

But if you can find a good clean one that's been well cared for, then they are great cars that have stood the test of time.

V6's are also prone to engine mounts failing, big deal you might think until you find out that they cost $900 and $1300 plus fitting and you can't get aftermarket ones. I've also seen the mount bracket bolts in the engine block snap, presumably from stress, which naturally is a cow of a job to fix with the engine in situ. It seems that Honda didn't reengineer the Odyssey very well to cope with the extra power which is unusual for them, the auto trans can't hack it either long term. Pity as its a beautiful smooth engine in the Honda tradition. On balance you are better off with a 2.2.

Should be possible to find a 2.3 vtec in that model.Would be a bit smoother than the 2.2
