Ford immobiliser light on all the time and flashes

I think the 99 au still uses the older type smartlock system(same as eb onwards) and i had an issue similar to yours where the smartlock light would randomly stay on now and again but my car (eb fairmont) was starting to not start randomly so i changed the bcm which was hidden behind the speedo cluster and is about the size of a dvd case but thicker.After changing it everything has been perfect,the electrics can get dry solder joints in them(inside bcm) and sometimes can be affected by heat,cold,moisture and play up a little bit but 99% of the time they usually work swell.
