Hi I have a nissan Primera 2001 auto. I'd like to know how to tell If it's a cvt box or normal auto. I can't find any referance and there are no badges on the back. When starting no cvt lights show on the dash. The gearshift is the normal P,D N,R.L ,thanks

My cvt Primera gear stick has only R, D and L, no 2nd, but with a 'sport' button on the side.You can also tell by looking at the rev counter when taking off, with cvt the revs go to about 2,000, and stay there as the car accelerates.With a conventional auto box, yo see the rev counter dip as the box changes gear.
