For Ford Guru's or those who have experienced this fault before and the fix for it! Without checking because car is a distance away, would it be an electrical fault as in a dud fuse or switch fault or wiring or release mechanism fault. Apparently the key fob remote still opens the trunk! Any help will be appreciated.

Maybe it has an isolation switch in the trunk. like a valet key type arrangement. that has been accidentally engaged. Though that would require a second signal wire to the solenoid for the fob to work.
Otherwise I'd have to go with just a dodgy switch.

Could be the actuator as well. What year focus!
Depending if its a mechanical or electrical switch, you can check with the remote - if you unlock the car the boot should also unlock, lock the car with the remote and the boot should lock as well. If it doesn't then likely to be the actuator. If it does, then it will be the switch/button.
