Have a 1995 Mitsi Delica van RWD which failed WOF due to "steering rack end joint worn" Tester pointed to a rubber cover like a CV boot on end of rack closest to motor and said joint inside has small amount of play and needs to be replaced. Anyone able to tell me how difficult this replacement is, roughly how long it would take to do the repair and approx. cost for a workshop mechanic to do the work.

Not a particularly hard job, maybe half to 3/4 hour+ cost of part, probably $30-50 for something like that. It will need a wheel alignment afterwards too.
