I'm looking to purchase a used vehicle and would like to also buy a mechanical warranty for peace of mind. Do you have any suggestions on a companies that sell warranties that are not a scam. Is there anything I should be aware of? Approximately, how much do you think the warranty will cost?
Additonal Info: I live in Michigan, so I'm looking to purchase an SUV (to be able to drive through snow in the winters). I have found 2002-2004 Explorer, Mountaineer, Durango, Sorrento or Rendezvous with mileage under 150k, for around $6000 or less. I will be spending all of my savings on the vehicle, so I'm really worried about any major maintenance issues after the purchase.
In addition, if you have any advice on which SUV I should get or outstanding issues with any of the vehicles I have mentioned, it would be appreciated.
