79 Honda 900F Carburretors question.

Ok, Bike was running rich. Took it to garage for tune up. Running fine after pick up. But within a day is pouring petrol out of the overflow pipe on one Carby.
Is this perhaps a stuck float inside the carby or ! And should I take it back to the garage that tuned it !
Thanks

Mike

It's not an overflow - it's a breather. But yes, stuck float or float valve seat dirty.

Thanks Tony, presumably when the mechanic tuned it last Friday, he cleaned the float chamber so maybe just stuck !

Don't presume. Check the invoice and if it's not specified, ask them if they had the bowls off. In any case it's impossible to prove it's their doing as it was OK when you first got it back which means the float was working then.

Do you run an inline strainer between the tank and the carburettor fuel rail! You should - it will reduce the rust from the tank from entering the carburettor float chambers. Preventing rust from forming in the first place means always storing the bike with a full tank.

give the offending float bowl a firm tap with a screwdriver handle. It may just be a bit of crud holding the float valve open.

Thanks Tony and Peril.will try both of those suggestions.
