Hi any ideas on how to remove rear outer CV joint stuck on drive shaft! 2000 Subaru Impreza 2.5 GT. Cheers.

I normally get two morris minor torsion bars, clamp the driveshaft in the vice and use the torsion bars to evenly lever the CV joint off but every CV joint is a different beast.

Spary the splines with CRC, reassemble everything back together but don't tighten the CV axle nut, leave it loose. Go for a blast around the block and try again. A big hammer also helps.

I suspect that the OP already has the driveshaft out, but wants to remove the CV from the end of it.

thorough washing check they do or do not have a circlip on the end of the shaft

this assumes you have removed the large wire clip and pulled the CV open

Jeez, far quicker way!
If you have a decent hammer and Punch/Chisel or are handy with a Grinder, you can turn the joint so the cage that the balls are in is exposed. Cut through this with the grinder, if you can't get all the way through finish it off with a hammer and chisel. Where safety goggles though as it is hardened steel.
That is of course assuming you are replacing the joint. If you're taking it off to replace the joint, might be easier to just remove the inner joint and back feed the boot on from the other end.

Sorry should have stated just what to replace the boot. So will probably just remove the inner CV and do it that way. Cheers
