Most desirable hot hatch?

tinkey, Aug 21, 8:35am
What are your favourite, most desirable hot hatches! Mine would be the R32 VW Golf, Mazda 3 MPS, and the Ford Focus RS500. 3 awesome cars. I thought my little 141kw Runx was pretty quick but these are seriously fast!

the r32 is a pig, would take the gti over the r32, but they cannot compare to the orginals

what about the BMW 1 series hatch! Cant say I've ever driven one but I bet the 135i in a proper manual would be a real laugh!

Clark, that VW Gti is insane! Awesome! And yes, that Clio is a beast too.
Don't like the look of those BMW's though sorry.

audi RS3 or even just an S3, really quick & great drive.

I wouldn't quite describe a 135i as a "hatch" but I can vouch (from personal experience) for the fact that with a few tweaks they are very, very quick!

Drop hatch KP Starlet desirable maybe! Iconic yes, & always seems to turn the heads.

I prefer the Golf GTI to the 6 Cylinder versions as well.

To me the essence of a "Hot Hatch" is that its supposed to be quick and fun to drive while still being as practical as possible. That dosn't mean it necessarily needs the last drop of performance.

With the GTI you get a hatch that's super practical and even amazingly economical for day to day driving yet its still agile and properly quick.

If it was a sleeper or traffic light dragster we were looking for my tastes might be different.

I've owned a few hatches. My first hatch (and car) was a KP60.Maybe it's just a first car thing, maybe it was a really great car, but it's one car I wish I hadn't let get away.I have so many great memories in that car!

If I was to pick a new hatch now!I'd have a serious look at the Renault Megane RS265, but alas, I'm a family man now.Station wagons are just big hatches. right!

1977 Torana A9X IS the hottest & most desirable Hatch even though it is 35 years old.
