I assume it is a 2012 Sport if it has CVT. My wifes has tons of grunt when cold although we do nurse it until it warms up. Yours must have an issue.

Replace said 1.5L engine with 2JZ-GTE. Problem solved.

Take it a Suzuki dealership workshop and have the diagnostics codes checked for error codes, this should show what's at fault hopefully.! Certainly sounds like something is amiss with the car for sure.

engine maybe it wont rev under load in gear, not slipping or missing

Does the "check engine lamp" go off after start up! Any warning lamps on.

OP--Im guessing once warmed up the problem goes away! is the car just barely idling when cold!-or even idling at sort of normal speed!

check engine light goes away, yes once warm it goes fine and it also idles fine
