Stripping or blasting for steel wheels Wellington

Hi all
I have some old Capri rostyles here I want to get stripped/dipped, they are needing some surface rust taken off them.
Is wet stripping best and who could do this in Wellington! Is sand blasting better/an option at all!

Steel wheels and sandblasting were made for each other. Its the more thorough of the processes mentioned by you.

i got mine done at Seaview blasting just up the road from placemakers, $25 per wheel cash

Ok thanks. I gotta be careful here - $100 for blasting, plus paint etc and wheel nuts then chrome trims. Could be an expensive exercise.

Wait till you have to do all the masking to repaint them.Absolute pigs.

Just out of interest why would you mask up a wheel with no tyre on it

I'm not sure what you mean, Splinter.

i got some Valiant rims sandblasted, big mistake, had to do so much prep work to clean up the roughness before painting. it was an a$$ of a job. get them media blasted, the surface finish will be much smoother only requiring a light filler primer to make them ready for painting. unless of course you have endless hours n loads of patience to sand all the corners, kooks n crannies to prep them for paint.
