It means that there is a fault with your engine, usually a sensor, and being an Astra, a cam angle sensor most likely. You will need to go to a garage that has a scan tool which can access fault codes and only then you'll know what's wrong with it. Nothing to panic about, but do get it looked at asap.

You can read the fault codes on those without the OBD2 device,
When you get into the car put the key into the ignition Make sure that you Press the Brake and the Throttle to the Floor ( max ) Then turn the key on until The dash board come on and DONT START THE CAR Wait 2 sec and keep the pedals Down to the floor the service light under the management light should start flashing Count the flashes, it will be in a series of 4 sets leaving 2 second space representing each number Zero gets 10 flashes
for exampleP0110 the light will flash ten times Break (2sec) then once, (2sec) once again, then ten
If you are planning on keeping the car look at buying a OP COM Diagnostic Tool, connects your laptop to the car and will give you all fault codes, clear codes, reprogram keys etc and only costs around $40
