School Holidays he needs to go for a ride in a roaring v8 then he might understand

smac, Oct 3, 5:12am
You guys are giving both Ford and Holden owners a bad name.

trader_84, Oct 3, 5:13am
Heres the thing though Splint . he sounds like a broken record . same sh1t all the time . so much so that anything 10llie has to say anymore is predictable taken with a grain of salt by most on here. Another thing too . he goes on about this and that . but its all talk aye! No ones seen any pics of his stuff or anything and to top it all off - he's selling fart valves FFS. Sorta gives you an impression of the boy, aye! Just saying .

fordmfp, Oct 3, 5:53am
LOL whole lot of fighting going on! It aint the same as it was a few years back but we still make a big day of it, Projector in the shed flags out bbq on and beers flowing all day long. GO FPR!

floscey, Oct 3, 7:05am
No matter the outcome , there will be a large hangover come Monday.
Go the Giz and the Stone Bros .

johnf_456, Oct 3, 7:30am
Bring it, Nissan and Mercedes will make it much more exciting over taxi racing.

elect70, Oct 3, 7:37am
Make the most of it as may not be on TV next yearunless skypicks it up . May not even be on Aussie TV either .

floscey, Oct 3, 8:16am
I thought the Thread heading "BATHURST" may have kept the haters out. Go figure. Guess you got to bitch about something.

doug207, Oct 3, 8:26am
Simple people judge others on their taste in cars.

Personally, I found it far more interesting when cars were near production specs
And the E30 M3 was my favourite from the last of the proper racing, little troopers they were, they showed what a properly clever company could make from a package that shouldn't have even been slightly competitive.

I don't think the addition of Nissan is going to be anything exciting, the cars are all made to meet regulations, very strict ones. The most exciting thing that'll happen is; more simple people will continue to abuse each other over supposed inadequacies in their taste of vehicles, a bit silly really.

I remember an article on the GTR Nissan - the ones that dominated with Jim Richards driving, -and they were a $500,000 upgrade from the factory settings. But the Nissan types overlook that bit everytine.

Theres been nothing racing at Bathurst for a very long time (in the Great Race) thats even remotely close to what the punters can buy.

floscey, Oct 3, 10:19am
like the efi PP rotary rx7 .You couldnt buy those.

mr-serious, Oct 3, 10:21am
Drifting! as opposed to the great race! Good lord. Lost for words.

mr-serious, Oct 3, 10:28am
Yes I agree. For the record, I am a bathurst fan bigtime. I own Holdens but I am a fan of the driver first. I always back Lowndes. I am also a motorsport fan on everything except drifitng.

chook90, Oct 3, 11:12am
I dont doubt for a moment that the Bathurst GTRs comprised substantial upgrades over factory but are you seriously suggesting that other manufacturers simply fielded a standard motor car!
Lets get real, the DJR Sierras, Brocks 05 & 10 cars and all the other front runners had boat loads of cash thrown at them to stay at the pointy end of the field - Nissan was not alone in that.

smac, Oct 3, 1:12pm
Noice. You're were your school debating champ, I can tell.

stockyz, Oct 3, 4:14pm
I went to the djr workshop a few years ago and the greens tuf xe was there it was still pretty stock on the inside complete with dash ,console rear seat and lambs wool seat covers. i think thats why the atcc/v8s took off in a big way in the 70's 80's the average punter could watch the race on sunday and go to the dearlership on monday and buy something that was close to what he saw on the track. Both ford and gmh used bathurst as a huge marketing tool.I cant see how they could now with cotf. Also the whole ford v holden thing is part of the aussie pysc. You are either a ford house or a holden one,a bit like afl teams in melb or nrl in nsw its just the way it is. I dont think the it translates well over here

trogedon, Oct 3, 4:19pm
There is something magical about seeing the gloss off the gun slowly turning matt.
(I'm still on the watching paint dry bit)

1ollie, Oct 3, 4:26pm
Shit school ya reckon! man I wish I was still there! those were some good times haha and been in plenty of decent V8s but they just have no soul and the power band tends make it a pretty boring ride/drive.

1ollie, Oct 3, 4:27pm
Hahaha to late. 4 years to late!
