heat gun on low setting and careful pealing. meths or disolvit to remove any reside glue. demister lines painted on so in my experience never have been damaged.

Hair dryer on low will do it too.
Then one of those green pot scourers with warm soapy water to get the residue off.

Use Wax'n'grease remover to get rid of the residue, with a rag + elbow grease.

DON'T use scourers-to abrasive especially for demister bars and can scratch glass,use kerosene to soak and disolve sticky film off with rags then glass cleaner to degrease.
