Hello all, the window regulator in my Rover 216SI 3 Dr has given out and I need a new one. Do you know if the Rover 216 SLI and the SI have the same regulators! also does it difer between 3dr and 5dr verisons!

Hi . do you know what has given up on it ! I had the same problem with my Benz, it was the large gear wheel had worn teeth off. All 2nd hand ones were in poor condition and a new regulator ex Germany was $900 + gst. I got a local engineer to make a new gear wheel, $200, works perfectly. Hope this helps !

you will have to learn how to make stuff up for cars like this . they are no longer made so parts will be less and less. like poster *2 said.

Hey yeah I have been quoted $150by a Rover specialist plus $65 to fit. So I would say thats too bad.

That Rover is pretty much a Honda in drag if so the bits should be everywhere.

exactly - isn't it just a civic! check models here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rover_200_/_25

Depends what year it is as to whether it is Civic-based or not. 95 on (bubble shape) were totally different to the Honda-era cars (most likely to be the case here).

Yes SLi and Si share the same mechanical components, only differences were in trim spec.

Also as for the "parts are hard to get cos they're not being made anymore" myth goes, X-part (the service parts arm of MG Rover) are still in business and still producing new parts for the cars.

If people can find parts for 50+ year old cars I'm sure megz29 will manage to find some for a Rover 216!
