Help please - trailer in Gisborne needs 2go2 AKL

chakendrick, Nov 10, 3:01pm
Can anyone suggest a (not rude) option!
Friend has a trailer that has broken in Gisborne and needs to get to AKL.
It has broken a bearing but it is not an easily available bearing. Options for transport! Have tried some. Of course they need to have some way of getting in on board.

Size/ type/ number of axles would be good info

chakendrick, Nov 10, 3:06pm
Single axle, covered in trailer home built.

size . My trailer is single axle and its 5 meter long . lol

chakendrick, Nov 10, 3:08pm
Probably 4-5 metres long incl drawbar.

i would take it to a engeneering shop where it is and get them to change the axle to a more common bearing .

They have to return to AKL today.

You need A .>>>
2.5 or 3ltr vehicle
Towbar
Flat deck single or dual axletrailer
$200 gas return
$50 snacks
********
.
Cheaper to go down there & fix it on the spot on Monday/ maybe overnight to Tuesday & tow the repaired trailer back

NOT going to happen without a LOT of $$$$$

well then you need to pay loads of money as its the size of a car. so car transporter would be it. Dont know if AA brakedown service covers trailers. Otherwise join AA for 400$ gold membership or highest membership what ever it is where you can tell the transporter where to deliver.

Pretty sure theres a "grace period" before you can claim on anything of that expense.

im in gisborne. with everything needed to move it. how much money you got!

trader_84, Nov 10, 10:26pm
I reckon you'd have to charge around 8 hundy (give or take) to pickup, drop off and return home - minimum. What were you thinking!

r15, Nov 10, 11:21pm
i was thinking see what they offer!but i'd go for less than that

With a tandem trailer on, that would be just over 2 tanks of diesel for me.
Auckland to Gisbourne return
3 tanks personally because I am in Hamilton to start with.
