Ford Escape overdrive button?

does anyone think the on/off button for overdrive is back to front!
When you turn it on it is in overdrive and you need to press the button to take it out, when most of your driving is in non overdrive.

From what you say
"When you turn it on it is in overdrive" do you expect to turn it on to turn it off!

Of course when it's on it's on and when it's off it's off.

Or are you saying that it defaults to "on' and you think it should default to "off"!

I just drive with O/D on most of the time.Unless you on a race track what does it matter anyway!

No not at all. When an on off button is pushed in it means that you are switching it on, ie permitting tne od to operate, when its out its off.

Overdrive in the modern sense is another gear above top like 5th in a manual its unlikely to be selected in town driving.

but thats my point when you turn on the car overdrive is selected and you have to press the button to "make overdrive off"
It seems weird that it is not the other way around!
