What would be the best way to remove Upholstery paint off door panels,Centre Console.Original interior was tan but has been painted black.Your Suggestions will be much appreciated.Areas painted are both Vynal and plastic.

If the surface is ok, just repaint rather than trying to remove the old.

I have used GP thinners sparingly to remove vynal paint and it worked ok. After we cleaned the old door panels we used VHT vynal dye. So far it appears to be a lot better than vynal paint. We did the complete interior of a car with it about a year ago now.

Thank you for your ideas.I want to strip the Black paint off the interior and hopefully get it back to the original tan colour.Tan is not my favourite colour for an interior but it came from the factory that colour and it is an extremely Rare Car.

thinners will take the top coat off the vinyl. DO NOT USE. i agree, respray to original colour

Try prepsol. I use thaton my billboards that are digital printed to take graffiti off. Seems to do the trick without taking the print off. Just dont rub to hard!
