Just glancing through the topgear magazine , and the ''normal'' Falcon apparantly is worthy of 5 star ancap rating, but the FPV varients only have a 4 star rating ! how does that work ! Does a black stripe really make that much difference !

the star rating includes impact on pedestrians so sports cars generally do poorly with the aggressive styling and spoilers not being good when impacting stupid people on the road.

Could also be what equipment is offered as standard, I don't know what is offered on FPV's. For example a car that has optional curtain airbags would rate lower than one where they are standard.

e. ANCAP doesn't seem to have tested the FPV models specifically so I'm not sure where the magazines scores come from

FPV buyers think they don't need seatbelts, they also think they're getting something vastly superior to their neighbours XR8 and its worth twice the price.
