Yea about the same here for the ol 88 Surf. average $80from (don't even think about driving it past the next gas pump) 500kms average with ANY load inside it. 500 to 550kms empty & being nice/flat roads etc 450kms with a trailer of whatever size & load.or even empty.

Told a tyre shop guy in Palmy the above info last month & he instantly put me down with . "thats nothing to be proud of, my Disco gets 650kms per tank"
Oh yea . ummm . his is a 2006 Disco / mines an 88 2.4T Surf . D'OH

There are reasonable expectations. You wouldn't expect my 88 Surf to be able to get 700kms on a tank but getting 350kms would be crazy as well.
Vehicle manufactures tend to set the fuel tank capacity to provide 500 to 700kms PER TANK over a specific range of engines for THAT vehicle design & age of era.
