That VTNZ truck with the sloping back.

What's in there and what do they use it for! I often see it travelling round Nelson area but it always has a cover over the back. I've never seen it stopped or doing anything. Cheers.

Of course I expect there is more than one.

Hmm, could be I suppose. Have you seen one though! They're not overly big.

kokako14, Feb 8, 8:45am
I think you'll find it??

smac, Feb 8, 8:49am
They run their own roadside assistance service, I always figured it was a recovery truck. Or do they outsource!

petermcg, Feb 8, 8:58am
It is a complete unit for issuing COF to heavy vehicles, they go to the small towns about once a month. It is equipt with rollers etc for brake testing, and yes there is more than one.

noswalg, Feb 8, 8:22pm
what a load of s$@t, they have no authority to do any of what you have suggested!

I hate to blow your party but the cviu use this truck for those purposes its not vtnz that pulls them over they just do the checks

noswalg, Feb 8, 9:52pm
My bad, thought they were referring to a VTNZ inspector

splinter67, Feb 8, 9:56pm
After rereading their post I think they were saying that too but they are wrong

yellowsubmarine, Feb 9, 10:40am
its mostly used for cofs.
they go to truck yards and do them onsite.

petermcg, Feb 9, 8:20pm
Thanks bro, thats what I said, seems where on the same wave length,, they go to our local transport yard and do all the trucks and also do all other vehicles while they are there.
