Thats a question you want to ask the OP, not me, if you want to know their reasoning behind it.

I would try to buy one with the seats already installed. They will cost a fortune to do, but when you come to sell it , it won't be worth much more than a std one.

Because thats how forums operate unfortunately. Oftena quite straightforward enquiry gets ambushed with all sorts of agendarised comments. Mind you the OP shot themselves in the foot in #6

i had a falcon with bench seat in front and a third row seat making it an 8 seater. the third row seat folded forward to make boot space when not in use. it was certified with two lap seatbelts. I sold the seat on here for $150. At a guess they would cost around $1500 to get fitted. Had two adults in the back, but only a 20 minute commute but better suited to kids.

And whos kids will you be putting in this extra seat, will you risk yours or other peoples. Go on line and watch a few crash tests. I have a Commie sedan and feel it is safe for 4 including the driver.

nanny state, when we were kids we use to go from Auckland to Whangaporoa on the back of a flat deck mazda ute every second weekend.we are still alive. i would put my kids in the rear of my station wagon without hesitaion. my kids travelled the length of the north island in the back of a falcon panelvan sitting in bean bags three times.

You are still alive because you weren't in an accident. Obviously OP could have his kids rolling around in the back willy nilly and they'll be fine as long as they aren't involved in a crash.

UM er actually yasee--I was in a pretty decent crash in the back of a valiant ute.

So you would be happy to drive around with all your sprogs rolling around in the tray of a ute then!

I reckon that the OP thought "Ah I can shove a seat in the back of a cheap clapped out falcodore for a hundy or so".But oops the price is a couple of grand so then simply said too expensive.
Years ago I had a Renault Nevada which was factory 3 rows. There was head room, foot wellsbelts etc for the 3rd row but it was still a PIA to get in and out as you had to fold up the 2nd row so you could get out the door. The other problem with 7/8 seaters of most types is there might be room for the people (but often not the required safety seats) but where do you put their stuff!Try going out (2 adults 5 kids) with pushchairs, nappy bags, chilly bins, scooters, beach chairs and all the other crap you just must have these days and tell me where you are going to put it all.Maybe a supershuttle trailer is the answer!
IMHO if you need 7/8 seats you really need a van type mini bus (Hiace, Caravan, Grandis) and not a Honda Stream. The other option is a couple of wagons ie primera and that will give you 10 seats and room.

If you have a big family yes, if you have 3 kids and want another couple of seats occaisonally then no.

Even 3 kids can be a problem as there are not many cars that will take 3 kiddy seats and then as the kids get older its a bit of a squash for 3 teenagers in the back.
Part of the problem is the amount of goodies people carry with them these days.I can remember 4 adults and a child doing a south island holiday (including attending a wedding so suits etc) in a Sunbeam Talbot with space to spare yet just the other week we picked up our rellies (2 adults & 12yr old) from the airport and we struggled to get their luggage in the boot of the Primera.
click on the tables and Images for small children only
contact Auckland Auto Trimmers, If it was fitted before June last year then didnt need LVV certification

Not sure that any of that would apply to a OEM rear seat (3rd row) kit.IMHO Its not a modification to a seat or its anchorage its simply fitting some factory parts to an existing vehicle
