From 2007 on what are the versions to avoid in the way of engine or gearbox! Or anything else if it's major I guess.

I own a 2010 3 door 2.4 manual. No probs at all. Only gripe is the paint Suzuki use is soft & thin compared to my 79 Lincoln.

I was hoping for some input mainly on the motors. One or more of them gives cam chain problems. There are 4x motors available, 1900cc Diesel, 1600cc petrol, 2000cc petrol and 2400cc petrol. Plus there are manual and auto boxes, can't say I've heard any bad about the auto gearboxes but my ears are open. Rav 4's and CRVs are under consideration but my soft spot is really for the Vitara.
