Help needed with my motorbike

Recently purchased 2004 GSX 250cc sports bike all works well. Up until today when i had the lights running coming back from a ride i noticed that smell of burning wires. I turned the bike off and left it for a few minutes. Thought it was just a earthing wire or short somewhere but now when i start it up and put in in either 1st or 2nd imediately it stalls loses all power. not like it suffers for gas or stutters into gear the rpm just drops dead to 0.

Need to know what i need to look out for to get it back and running again!

As if someone turned it off!
Possibly the side stand cut out switch/wiring had a melt down!

Maybe the smell was clutch!

Sure sounds like the sidestand inhibitor.

Get a manual & rewire, its not a computer controlled engine, so has a lower than normal difficulty rating.
