Paint fade

Hi all,

I knew it when I bought it, but on my subaru legacy (white) there is a noticeable dull/bland white patch. On the bottom corner of d/side bumper, about 30cm x 20cm. Previous owner claims ( and looks like it) that they tried to fix up a scratch with touch up spray. However the tape they used as overspray protection looks like it's ripped off the deep shinyness from the paint.
Only really noticeable from an angle, front on is okay. However, as a result, I see it every time I jump in. Is this easily repairable or am I looking at a total bumper respray?

I've tried over the counter wax/car cleaner by hand.

Thanks.

Spray can paint will always be less glossy.

Having the bumper repainted will achieve best results. What model legacy is your car. It will save you money if you remove the bumper cover yourself, and then have it repainted/touched-up.

Maybe cheaper to try find a whole white bumper?

It's 02, and is otherwise immaculate. Just trying to figure out what would be the best way, it's the rear bumper too.

TRY A 2000 GRIT WET SAND AND THEN RE POLISH (sorry caps)
