Motorbike - Bmw X Challenge - What do you know

Looking at a BMW X Challenge but with electrical problems, ie, no spark. Not much info from the seller but parts seem cheap enough. Opinions? Cheers

I looked on some forums, it seems like it could be as simple as an ignition switch or break in the wiring, but without having the history of the bike it is a bit of a lottery.

Like the BMW cars, they seem to be sensitive to low battery voltages.

The price you pay would have to reflect the risk you would be taking.
If it is the one in Rangiora, you could spend a grand on it and still get most of your money back.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't it the simple old 650 single in there? If so its a fairly well known motor and maybe electrics are also shared?
If yer lucky a sparky might find fault quickly. If it's parts failure I guess they'll be plenty online overseas.

Just buy the King of Baja - XR650R and import rear frame
for carrying gear. Kick that german show ponies ass anyday
of the week. Does an electric start only adventure bike make
a lot of sense ?
