Air conditioning works but the fan does not.Does the dash have to come out for a new blower & if so what is approx cost. Thanks

It cost our company, fortunately not me, I just drive the thing, $600 plus gst. Dash is largely dismantled.
Edit to say we have done it twice in 300,000 km.

you want to know the exact fault befor you start pulling things apart wiring diagram and checking curcuit and fuses would be the way to start 2005 most likely you can comand the fan on with a factory capable diagnostic scanner .

yes possible and they might find something else to be causing the problem with there oem scanner . i doubt a sparky has a ford factory level scanner

make sure you take it to a competent dealer who looks in there computer for possible TSB and knowen fixes like flash-upgrading software in some cases along with a new component to not work it to death with the way its programmed to function again.
