Right up front I'm a Ford fan. The car I regret selling the most was a 1968 Holden Monaro factory fitted with the 307 Chev motor. Had to go to get the house deposit. And the bloogy Mrs took most of the house when we split. Loss loss.
What do you regret selling and why?

1969 TVR Tuscan V6. Would love to have that now but needed cash for motorbike for long summer in Europe. The TVR would have made a lousy tourer. I was on my big OE in London.
Next would be my 1971 Peugeot 504 French made, ZF auto. Served well for many years, bought a commodore in late 80's to replace it, and sold the commodore and had pugs bodywork fixed up properly instead. Wonderful car. Girlfriend wrote it off much later.

My MK111 Zodiac in black cherry with red interior, sold it to buy an engagement ring and get married in 1970.
Jolly wide wheels with gold pinstripes to match the gold Zodiac lettering.
And it was mint!

Our 1988 ( i think it was ) x f falcon, G L , had bench seat

My 1955 Austin A30 - four-door model. It was my first car bought in 1965. It had been repainted white and fitted with white-wall tyres. It represented freedom and independence for me. Three years later I very reluctantly sold it before leaving on my big OE.

Mint RX2 with 13b and 5speed, swapped it for a mk5 cortina because I couldn't afford the tyres and petrol at the time. Miss the old LJ torana, but could cry when I see what tidy RX2's are going for now

Before the Zodiac I had an A60, lowered, additional sway bar on the front, engine bought up to MGA 1600 specs with twin SU's and my own version of head work and flowing. Fully balanced engine, everything else std.
Transformed from a 75mph family car to a surprising (to other road users) vehicle. Timed at a Car Club Sprint Day at 105mph over flying quarter which was hard to beat in the mid '60's in a family saloon car.

Can I pick two?
1. My 1968 Cortina GT MK2 for $1600 30 years ago, and
2. My 1971 Cherry red Mustang fastback for $9500 20 years ago.

My 3rd car 1961 Triumph Herald in Black Cherry and Glacier white roof. Warm 1200 motor, did Otahuhu to Wellington Ferry terminal in 8 1/2 hrs. Toured the Sth Island for 3 weeks covered 5000+ kms and it cost me $33.50 in gas. Bought it for $300 sold it for $650 7years later. Still have dreams about the car. And my factory Mini utes (2)

Hey, it was a long time ago and would be nostalgia reasons only!
Now, I can't think of a single new Ford I would like to own, although the Ranger admittedly are nice.

71 HG Kingswood wagon. 186, 3 on a tree trans, a FAR better car than the HQ Kingswood wagon 202 that replaced it.

The two I miss most.
1973 XA Fairmont Sedan 460/C6/9"
1973 HQ Premier Sedan 383/Manual TH350/9"

Actually miss all of my V8's.

The two I regret not buying:
- Cheap(ish) 360 Charger that had a minor under bonnet fire.
- XA/XB coupes when they were cheap (yes, there was a time :-)
- A third / fourth being XA GT or HQ (& earlier) Monaro. Also when they were relatively cheap.

Cars are just cars, and there can be various reasons why their owners need to move on. Bit like asking which washing machine or TV you regret disposing of.

XB Fairmont 351 manual. I did a lot of miles in Aus and should have brought it home with me.

Mistral sports car. More fun then anything else on earth. Over 40 years ago, before all these silly LVV regs.

extrayda, Nov 8, 9:19am
Cars are just cars for people who just go from A to B - then yes, just an 'appliance'.
Much more than that for people who enjoy the car / driving / both.

tigger8, Nov 8, 10:34am
38 & 39 Chev's

whqqsh, Nov 8, 10:47am

laurelanne, Nov 8, 5:44pm
Jolly wide wheels. The number one accessory 45years ago. 185 aqua jets on six and a half inch rims . That guy must have made a fortune.
