Hey there. I have a 1993 ED Fairmont sedan. I have been quoted $758.00 to fit new standard shock absorbers. That's 2 for the front and 2 for the rear. Seems rather steep? Any comments please.

Seems pretty good to me, parts and labour.
What are you basing your judgement on?

a bit steep IMO, I supplied my rear shocks as I found some NOS air shocks but Manukau Tyres (in South Aucks) fitted them & fitted & supplied front shocks in my EL wagon & cost in the mid $400's

How much is parts and how much labour? Maybe they're quoting ford parts whereas you can get perfectly good, often OE supplier, shocks often much cheaper. I had boge units put in back of mark x that saved couple hundred over Toyota part. I THINK rear shock is inside spring, so all four spring units have to come out and that's a bit of labour. Certainly it's inside spring at front. 3 hours worth? Mechanic comment needed!

For a fitted price its not bad, given the fronts are a strut type, rears are straightforward enough but involves removing the outer parts of the seat back to install. Three hours is reasonable.
