97 Maxima plugs 3000cc

hi do you have to remove the manifold on this car to change the other bank of plugs . thanks

I just watched a vid on youtube and the guy did not have to. I had to make sure as I had the next model Maxima.

We had a 3L Cefiro (same car 99% same engine). I replaced them but keep in mind you have to use the platinum tipped ones. Quite an easy job but you will need a 1ft extension for your socket as one bank of plugs ( I think the rear ones) are quite a way down.

Don't think you have to use platinum, but they are hugely preferable and recommended. (I used the standard equivalents in mine for a time because I couldn't afford the platinums. But got the good ones now.) And no to removing the manifold. Easy job with the right tools.

Yep, the plugs last 100,000 ks so why wouldn't you.

One other quick thing. be really careful with the coil packs. Handle them with kid gloves, put each one somewhere safe while doing the plug, and be careful when refitting/tightening because they're damn expensive to replace!
