but when the engine dies surely the engine light comes on. Im a lady who doesnt run it too low.

Just to clarify Did the "engine light" come on before it died, or did it die and then the light came on? Have you been able to restart it?

Probably buggered from years of no fuel filter changes, the OEM Jeco pumps in those old Nissans were never particularly robust. I'd be weary of a secondhand one.

The car wants to turn over now the battery is good to go, but theres no petrol getting thru, Im not sure of when the light came on. Didnt get correct details. My backyard mechanic has done tests and theres no petrol coming thru the tubes.
