It must have the same dodgy prone to shuddering and premature failure CVT auto transmission as the first generation Fit, so best to avoid in auto.

They are basically a fit wagon. Same engine, same trans.

I had a look at Fits and Airwaves on a Japanese website, different chassis codes, same engines(which is used in many 1500 Hondas), different transmission codes, and also a different size body, way wider and longer than the Fit.

I was impressed with one I took for a test drive but what put me off was the sky roof. All that glass must be heavy and increase the center of gravity? Drove very well but I'm a Toyota fan. Still looking at the Fielder wagon.

Mr better half has had hers for over 3yrs now without any issues at all. This is backed up by my best mate who is a transmission specialist. the shudder is an easy fix, and in the worst case scenario a Fit trans is a shot load cheaper to replace than any of its rivals.

I personally buy a vehicle based on reliability and performance than what they're called. but in saying that, if I was ever in the market for a people mover I wouldn't be caught dead in a Toyota Emina. sounds too much like enima for my liking lol
