Safety flashing amber light for traffic work

jason18, Feb 1, 7:03am
Hey guys. Any idea what requirements the light should be (certain flashes per minute etc) to comply with nzta standards. I see some led ones on tm but some look crap. Any help would be awesome

My new fert truck has had Hella firebolts put on it. Needed for after dusk as an overwidth vehicle.
These are listed as a strobe light.
Certainly show up at night, not sure about daytime. More light than the old rotating beacon I had on the old truck, and would be similar speed for 'flash'. Have not seen a standard for flashes per minute.

Why thank you kind sir

Most of my work will be at night time mostly off the road but be good to chuck on for when I'm backing cherry picker up etc. Didn't know if it had to do certain flashes per minute and doesn't look like it has too.

Many decent LED strobes have different flash patterns anyway, so you set it to the one you think is best.

I think this pattern is the best,

Yes it's going, no it's not. Yes it's going, no it's not. Yes it's going, no it's not. Yes it's going, no it's not. Yes it's going, no it's not. Yes it's going, no it's not. Ahh, but maybe you want it to flash, flash, flash, or flash-flash, flash-flash, flash-flash, or roundie-roundie-roundie, or even roundie-roundie flash-flash roundie-roundie flash-flash!

henderson_guy, Feb 1, 8:31am

Try BNT for one of these, as good as the old bulb one (lots of cheap ones are not that bright)
