Depends on what you expect it to do as to whether the 4cyl Escape is worth buying or not. They were really only brought out for people who liked the model but were put off by the idea of a running a V6 petrol around town. Open road driving and towing performance was definitely compromised.

Mechanically they're probably pretty solid, which I think is what you're asking. As a car pretty awful. Do you need a mini suv? Any decent car of era will outperform it in every single way.
