A lot of vehicles, Honda's total around a million.

tgray, Jan 7, 11:37am
100,000 more massive, thirsty, Dodge Rams sold, than Toyota Corollas.
Shows how different we are here in NZ.

rbd, Jan 8, 4:01pm
No, shows how "different" they are over there.

Also remember that trucks don't have to meet the emission requirements that cars do.

petal_91, Jan 8, 5:15pm
No SUVs in that list apart from the Honda CR-V. Bet that would have been different a few years ago,

3tomany, Jan 8, 5:18pm
I think we are not that far different. When our sales figures come out trucks will be the biggest sellers and remember ford don't sell the ranger in US any more as the current ranger is close to F150 size so that makes us no different

3tomany, Jan 8, 5:22pm
Ha just thinking we might be bigger red necks than them? Our top ten will be full of trucks and SUVs

charlie4561, Jan 8, 5:23pm
The 2015 F-150 with its weight saving aluminium chassis, 700lbs lighter than the previous model, looks amazing. Also the fuel saving 2.7L Eco-boost turbo looks good. Wish they sold that here instead of the Ranger.

3tomany, Jan 8, 5:29pm
Yip 2.7 ecoboost F150 is the one I would buy if sold here

charlie4561, Jan 8, 5:37pm
There is a lack of good petrol powered pickups in NZ and the F-series would fix this. If you don't want a dirty diesel you have to buy a Great Wall or something now, LOL.

tgray, Jan 9, 5:52am
Trucks in NZ don't outsell cars, like in the USA.

marmar1, Jan 9, 6:10am
corolla sold 6472 and the ranger sold 6330 in 2014.

3tomany, Jan 9, 9:39am
3000 of them to rental companies. Trucks are sold to red blooded kiwis corolla is sold to accountants

vtecintegra, Jan 9, 10:02am
One factor is there are a lot more different models in the SUV space than there are in cars - take a look at the full list and try adding up all the SUVs

twinsonic, Jan 10, 3:01am
I live in Canada and the new RAM as well as the F150 do 40mpg, that is roughly 7 liters per 100km. Empty of course, but they are by no means guzzlers anymore. Extremely popular here and you get one at present from CAD$18'990.00

rachnl84, Jan 10, 3:46am
I would love a f150 maybe when the milk payout goes back up ha ha but I definitely don't like the ranger it looks like a cross eyed guppy driving down the road

tgray, Jan 10, 6:43am
A quick Google search shows the Ram V8 getting 14mpg city and 17mpg highway.
The V6 gets 17 and 25 respectively.
These half ton trucks getting 40mpg? Um, no. Not yet anyway.
The F150 doesn't do much better.

twinsonic, Jan 10, 7:51am
Well, I live here and that is what the trucks are advertised on TV. Read this:

Ok. I guess in cruise control on the highway in 8th gear, the eco diesel will achieve that.
It doesn't get that in real world conditions though.
Still impressive.

Wards were bagging some of the eco-boost engines.

http://wardsauto.com/wards-10-best-engines/where-s-eco-ecoboost The 3.0 litre Chysler/ Fiat Vm motori etc 3.0 litre Italian diesel. http://youtu.be/jujbpbawqDc
I would like to know how this engine compares with the toyota d4d, ford 3.2 5 cylinder, gm 2.8, nissan and isuzu etc engines.
Perhaps Chrysler/ Fiat could start building a new Valiant ute in Thailand with this engine?
Click - Jeep ute for 2015 - one was at the Fieldays last year.

brapbrap8, Jan 10, 4:59pm
Not sure that I would buy a Jeep ute. Jeep has a fairly bad reputation from their recent products.

3tomany, Jan 10, 7:09pm
don't have time to google it but a US gallon is way less than an imperial gallon

serf407, Jan 11, 7:02am
Jeep are likely to build in China. NZ will likely get 2nd hand Jeeps from China at some stage that have been built by a few million engineers and are a superior quality to US built Jeeps.

http://www.consumeraffairs.com/news/jd-power-reliability-ratings-drop-jeep-among-the-worst-lexus-best-021214.html

The rating (on 3 year old vehicles) had Jeep sandwiched between Hyundai and Landrover.
