Jazz or any other Eurofiles,
MIL has just purchased one of these from a dealer done 80k
No service history supplied.
What are the trans service requirements and what other servicing is due/overdue at this age and mileage?
Thanks

My Golf cost me $1600 all up which included DSG service, cambelt and full engine service. From Burgers. Same year, GTi wagon.

Specify correct fluids seems to be a biggie.
Search old posts for jazz words of wisdom.

The oils/fluids are critical on VW's.
To use other non-VW specified stuff is literally playing Russian Roulette with your engine.

It annoys me greatly that I can't run GM Dex-Cool coolant in my Jetta!.

Of course 'real' Volkswagens are aircooled and don't use coolant at all

Ow! That's a problematic coolant, mainly because it is highly anti-social - ie, it doesn't mix well (at all, in fact) with other coolants.

I think that if you wanted to use this, you'd need to take your car to a radiator specialist, so he can properly flush/clean the car's system to prevent it gunking up from the mixing of two different fluids.

Thunderbolt quick answer is -I would count on spending $2000 to get it up to scratch.
BUT -Is the vehicle a kiwi new or a Jap import?
If kiwi new you might be able to find service history by the franchise dealer
the service department can be pretty helpful if you explain what you are trying to do.
If a JAP import then Have a good look around the car. What you are looking for is stickers in the engine bay and in the drivers door hole area.
This may provide evidence of different areas being serviced.
