Just don't do it - one of the worst SUVs on the market.
Consider a Kia Sportage, VW Tiguan, CX 5 or even a Peugeot 3008. They may all be a bit more expensive than the Captiva but are light years ahead in handling, features, longevity, resale value and enjoyment.

It isn't a bad vehicle, but it is basically a runout model of what is now an 11yo design. Get what you pay for stuff really.

Run out model is right. Run out into traffic screaming "why did I buy this piece if crap! "

All those sorts of vehicles, in between cars and proper bigger wagons fall into 'no man's land'.
Maybe they're fuel efficient and you seat a couple of midgets in the boot, but that's about it.

You are a bit generous saying it is only 11 years old. It has had a holden badge for 11 years but was a daewoo for a while before that. The thing is a dinosaur. Worse still it was not a good buy even in its younger days.

Nah it was a 2006 release regardless of badge. Not that it makes much difference in the scheme of things.
I can only think of Mitsubishis and some niche stuff like the LandCruiser 70 that have had a longer run

They buy CX9's. At least they have a purpose. CX5's are pointless. Only good for elderly who like sitting higher.
