Truck chiller box body weight

Probably doable (most things are) but I think much safer to get it put on a flatdeck truck myself. Just think of the size of the sail if you strike a cross wind never mind the weight you are trying to tow. The fridge gear might make it nose heavy as well. How are you thinking of getting in on and off your trailer anyway?

a decent trailer with brakes and 2 ton tow vehicle.

As above flat deck

Ya'll be pushin it to get a trailer that can take 2.2 metres wide on the deck as a deck load. And ya chiller box is designed to sit on the truck chassis.
Not on the sides of a 1900 or so deck width trailer with sides and it won't be a happy tow with a heap of 6x2's somehow strapped/lashed to the sides to sit ya chiller body on even if ya did the old pallets on the deck trick ya ain't that stable with the height and weight.
Sure there are trailers out there that are designed for forklift loading and are wheels under but again at 2.2 metres wide ya better as gettin some one to pull it as a back load on an empty flat deck

eidts to add weight will be in the 1 to 1.6 tonne range probably

Probably on a trailer would weigh 3.0 to 3.5 ton with nothing in it . What do you want to load it with ?

thanks for the comments. It is just a empty chiller box that I want to relocate from Dunedin to Nelson. I can’t find a trailer suitable to put it on, so won’t be towing it now with my vehicle.
I now need to try and get it transported, so anyone have any ideas who may do it that won’t cost many thousands? 5.2m x2.2m x2.2m and fairly light.
I have not seen it but would imagine that there will be tie down points inside, so a freighter/ furniture company could carry extra freight in it as well.

Sounds like its overbuilt & overweight the chiller box I mean, also got the frozen goods go in it yet.

I really don’t know the weight, but certainly will be nowhere near what a 20 ft reefer shipping container will weigh. It around the size of a larger caravan, and I suspect weight will be similar to a loaded caravan.
Any ideas of someone looking for a backload north, even if it is to Christchurch or Spring Creek

If you have a way of loading and unloading it, then you could try STL linehaul. They specialise in awkward and unusual loads.
Probably won't be cheap though, as although it may be light (I'd guess around 1-1.5 ton) it's gonna take up a lot of room.

Any truck with a 2 T hiab will do ask around transport cos might get it as a backload .
