driver's window stop halfway up in hot weather left a few minutes goe's up. No noise (grinding etc) good when cold weather.

Sounds like it is getting stuck and regulator motor is cutting out to prevent it from burning out, hence will work again a few minutes later. Try cleaning out the rubbers and when dry apply some graphite powder.

If you can still hear the motor trying,check the tracks it slides in. Maybe a little silicone spray in the tracks would help. If its the motor that cuts out, you will have to check its electrical connections.

same spot every time? likely motor is getting old and hitting resistance. as curly says slean up the tracks and see if that fixes it

2004 should unlikely be electronic , knowing toyota who used dinosaur tech for as long as possible. So its most probable a mechanical issue if its in the same spot. if it was 2021 model it could be faulty door computer but not on a 04
