Hi guys, in idile my car engine makes a sound like

a food dispenser with a knife in it but if i put my foot on the accelerator slightly it goes away.Any ideas what this might be ! How would i fix it please !

it will be cvt trans and be the springs in the cvt drive plate ratling quite common on the rovers.

The belt was changed at 98,000 and its done 130,000 km. Do they have belts or chains !

1997 rover sli 1600cc.I have just checked where the noise is coming from and seems to be right in the middle of the trans and motor, not in the motor thankk god.It seems to go real bad when turning the steering hard to full lock. Is this easy to fix or is a replacement job !
