Without hijacking the thread, I'd like to know how good the automatic ones are.

Not really sure mugenb20b I suspect they are O.K and just have a bit of an un-deserved bad name in NZ like most Euro's but really I havn't had hardly any exposure to them. Someone else may know.

If its as nice and tidy as it looks in the pics poster one I would say thats a good buy. The 2.0 manual is fun to drive and surprisingly good on fuel from memory. It would get my vote if you like it. I would also consider a MK4 Golf GTI and a Fiat Punto Abarth but really the Peugeot should hold its own fairly well against those two.

They don't drive at all well compared to the 306 - highly disappointing

I have looked at two recently both 2002. and both had jerky gear changes - something to look for maybe!
